.In it’s 16thyear, the villages of Contoocook and Hopkinton will host Starry Starry Weekend, December 6th through 8th.  With a tag line of “one weekend, two villages, and three days of unique holiday shopping and events,” Starry Starry Weekend enchants visitors of all ages. This is the Hopkinton area business’s annual holiday weekend with over 20 destinations to choose from. Each day is filled with festive shopping, dining and exciting events.

ONE WEEKEND. TWO VILLAGES. THREE DAYS OF EVENTS.
Contoocook & Hopkinton, NH – December 6th– 7th– 8th, 2019
 
In it’s 16thyear, the villages of Contoocook and Hopkinton will host Starry Starry Weekend, December 6ththrough 8th.  With a tag line of “one weekend, two villages, and three days of unique holiday shopping and events,” Starry Starry Weekend enchants visitors of all ages. This is the Hopkinton area business’s annual holiday weekend with over 20 destinations to choose from. Each day is filled with festive shopping, dining and exciting events. 
 
The villages will be sporting several holiday themed pop-up shops. The Contoocook Train Depot and St. Andrews Church will both have goods from talented local artisans, plus a third aptly named Artisan Pop Up in Contoocook’s main square. On Saturday Contoocook United Methodist Church will feature a cookie walk and a pantry table with homemade food & gift items. Local artisans and crafters will be selling many handcrafted articles at several locations throughout the villages. The popular ‘Shopping Extravaganza’ fund raiser for the Town of Hopkinton Library has grown and is moving to the Maple Street School where is will continue to host local vendors selling a wide variety of holiday gifts.
The ‘events’ portion kicks off Friday, Nov 30th with the lighting of the official town tree in the village of Contoocook at 4pm. Followed by holiday music performed by the Hopkinton Town Band. The.Hopkinton Historical Society’s Annual Art Show ‘s “Last Chance Night.” Runs from 5pm – 7pm. The public is given one last chance to view and purchase original works from more than 40 of the region’s finest artists. The Hopkinton Town Library is hosting a Shadow Puppet Show by Mr. Vinnie Friday evening that is sure to delight kids of all ages.
On Saturday, Dec 1st  , the Hopkinton Recreation Department is hosting a Gingerbread House Workshop where families can spend some quality time decorating a tasty gingerbread house.  A special reading of the book Polar Express will take place on Saturday evening from 5-7pm on the historic Pullman Train Car sponsored by the Contoocook Riverway Association.  Hot chocolate will be served but everyone should dress warm as the train is outside on the tracks.
The local shops will be rolling out the red carpet for visitors with special treats or events of their own to celebrate festive weekend. Marklin Candle in conjunction with their gift gallery, Der Markt will have candle factory tours in which you can learn about their special relationship with the bees and their candle making processes. Nationally recognized Gould Hill Farm will be open all weekend with fresh apple cider, warm baked goods, NH Christmas trees, wreaths and the most unbelievable views of the White Mountain range. This year the orchard will be featuring it’s Hard Cider Tasting Room.
